CUSTOM EXHIBITION AND EDITION PRINTS

Produced in close collaboration with artist. With our experience of advanced fine art digital printmaking techniques and strategies we will take care of digital file preparation, image manipulation and print output. As a standard, each file is individually optimised for luminosity, depth and dimension.

Fine art papers and premium canvas used at the Code Ice studio are acid free, museum grade materials, many have been certified by the Fine Art Trade Guild for light-fastness and suitability in fine art reproduction. A final decision on paper type usually forms part of the discussion with the artist when planning a custom print project, and can often involve test prints on multiple media.

Sizes are based on a maximum printer width of 44 inches and a roll length of up to 40 feet (111.8cm x 12m), a custom print can be produced at any size within those size constraints.

In reproducing an original work of art it is also crucial that the original be retained at the studio for colour accuracy where the process will invariably also involve a number of proof prints being generated.

Custom studio giclée prints may be marked with the unique Code Ice chop together with a signed certificate of authenticity as proof of provenance. To further protect you and your buyers' investment in fine art prints we can also list your prints in our secure print register.

Costs are based on service required, please contact us to discuss your particular requirements and receive a quote. However as a guide to print costs view our online service web pages where the price for sheets of media at specific sizes can be seen. All custom print projects incur additional costs for file preparation, proofing etc. based on our current rates.

Turnaround times vary according to job. Some large custom exhibition projects can extend over many weeks due to both workload and complexity of task. If you have an exhibition planned it is advisable to speak with us as soon as possible. Smaller projects can usually be handled over a period of days.

Collaboratively Supporting Your Creativity

For working artists and artisans we specialise in providing a range of professional services designed to assist you achieve a financial return from your artworks.

If you view your art practice from a business perspective then obviously keeping costs to a minimum, without compromising quality, is a must. Issuing a set of genuine high end limited edition giclee prints can be daunting when you start to consider what is involved in professional artwork photography, scanning, file optimisation, colour matching and colour grading. Plus the actual individual cost of prints.

Whether you want big prints on canvas from your paintings and photos or on demand giclee edition prints from your artwork on watercolour fine art paper, we ease this process by working with individual artists doing as much or little as is required - cost effectively!

For working photographers and artists we offer wholesale giclee printing and custom giclee art prints. Supply us with your ABN and you get a greater discount. Order multiple prints and save even more with our volume discounts.

Our online print order process is designed to be simple to use but very effective, saving you time and money!

Code Ice uses genuine certified archival media, and can actually produce the certficates. Currently there are no common standards in Australia relating to fine art digital inkjet printing, and unfortunately many sub-standard prints are being produced and sold as "museum grade" or "archival giclees". We work only to the highest standards taking the guidelines issued by the UK Fine Art Trades Guild as our measure.

We are also constantly developing skills and strategies designed to help our artist clients achieve the maximum financial return from their artwork such as advanced file optimisation techniques involving custom colour/luminosity adjustments, the free online artist portfolio pages, web development and seo advice. Where clients have their own web site we can now also offer at zero cost a rather neat solution for integrating e-commerce print sales on their site with print orders automatically directed through Code Ice.

FRAMING

We do not provide picture framing services as our focus is totally on the "Print". However we have worked with a great number of quality framers over the years and can sometimes recommend a good framer.

Crucial to the longevity of your giclee art print is the quality of frame that surrounds it. Ensure that your framer uses only conservation grade, archival grade materials.
