Giclée printers use archival inks which make the long term properties of eleven colour giclées significantly superior than prints created using technologies such as four colour offset printing. The pigmented ink / media combinations used in giclee printing can have light fastness ratings of up to 200 years.

Not only are Giclees going to last longer than our lifetime but their visual quality is also undeniably extraordinary which makes it hard sometimes to distinguish a giclee print from the original.
